Are you trying to make a good, fun, enjoyable game or are you trying to build a dopamine pump that will make you rich? My advice is to focus less on making money and more on making a fun game. In my opinion every time the player upgrades a stat, the improved ability should be easily noticeable in the next game (which won't happen if the increments get costlier and costlier while growing by such pitiful amounts). I play games to be absurdly powerful and progress fairly steadily, not to be weak and dicked around by exponentially costly upgrade paths.
